Suzuki VZ1500 Intruder cruiser model
was first introduced in 2009 and was intended for the markets of North America, Europe and Oceania, where it was sold under different names:
- Suzuki Intruder M1500
is a model for all markets except North America. - Suzuki Boulevard M90
is a model for the North American market.
The Suzuki Intruder M1500 / Boulevard M90 was based on a frame from the flagship version of the Suzuki Intruder M1800R / Boulevard M109R and a redesigned engine from the Suzuki VL1500 Intruder - the engine receives liquid cooling, an increased compression ratio, 4 valves per cylinder and a number of other improvements that ultimately increased maximum power up to 106 hp, and torque up to 137 Nm.
In all other respects, the Suzuki Intruder M1500 / Boulevard M90 was very similar to the M109R - Suzuki's marketing move was to offer the market a cheaper alternative to the M109R, which would be as similar as possible to it.
Despite the interesting concept, the Suzuki Intruder M1500 / Boulevard M90 model was in rather weak demand outside the American market. This led to the fact that the Intruder M1500 gradually began to disappear from dealers in European countries, as well as the name itself. As a result, today only American modifications of the Boulevard M90 remain on the market, which continue their production to this day.
In 2013, the liquid engine from the Suzuki Boulevard M90 was completely migrated to the classic version of the Suzuki Boulevard C90, which received the abbreviation BOSS. Despite the same engines, the C90 and M90 produce different power and torque - the classic version of the C90 is “strangled” to 77.8 hp.
2019 was the last year of production of the model.
The main competitors of the Suzuki VZ1500 Intruder (Boulevard M90) in the class:

- Yamaha XV1700 Warrior

Suzuki Intruder M1500 (Suzuki Boulevard M90)
The Suzuki Intruder M1500/Suzuki Boulevard M90 maxi-cruiser has undergone an update that we (or just a few of us) will only be able to appreciate in 2009. The big V-Twin from Japan has received minor updates in terms of appearance and technology, but remains the same excellent, almost perfect motorcycle. Whatever one may say, the Suzuki Intruder model is respected and adored by each of us.
Features of Intruder M1500/Suzuki Boulevard M90: - 1462cc (90 in. cu.) V-Twin, long stroke cylinders, 4 valves per cylinder. The engine produces enormous torque while maintaining efficiency. — Two spark plugs per cylinder for better performance. — Vapor Deposition (PVD) system, friction reduction. — Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) — an injector with an electronic control of a 32-bit chip. — Idle Speed Control (ISC) for easy cold starts and stabilization of engine operation in different conditions. - An effective engine monitoring system and emission sensor allow the Intruder M1500/Suzuki Boulevard M90 to meet the latest standards for various markets. — Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) for effective clutch control and easy gear shifting of the motorcycle. — Mechanical noise is reduced thanks to special insulation of the cylinder caps and the use of gaskets. — Special oblique cuts in the chrome muffler provide the characteristic dynamic sound of the V-Twin. — Inverted fork with 43mm stays and 130mm wheel travel. — Strict design of the tail section of the motorcycle in the hardtail style, under which a 46mm rear shock absorber is hidden. — The seat of the motorcycle is long and wide for the convenience of the passenger. For solo trips, the passenger seat can be easily replaced with the tail section. — The chrome steering wheel (25.4 mm in diameter) is located at a relatively short distance from the seat. — As a braking system, there are two 290 mm floating discs with two pistons at the front and a single disc at the rear. - Bridgestone radial tires designed specifically for the Intruder M1500/Suzuki Boulevard M90: 120/70ZR18M/C (59W) front and 200/50ZR17M/C (75W) rear. — Tool compartment in front of the headlight, covered with a chrome cover. — Convenient chrome-plated footrest for easy removal and installation of parking. — Halogen headlight with multi-reflector (60/55W halogen high/low-beam bulb) — The taillight is made using LED technology. — Convenient panel with analog speedometer and fuel consumption information.

Suzuki Boulevard M90
Brief review of Suzuki Boulevard M90 (M1500)
The Suzuki Boulevard M90, also known as the M1500 and VZ1500, is a cruiser motorcycle that is an offshoot of the Boulevard line of cruisers. Externally, it is an almost exact copy of one of the two flagships of the Boulevard line - the M109R (M1800R) model, that is, the motorcycle looks like a dragster or power cruiser.
It is worth noting that in this case, not only the appearance, but also the character was inherited from the flagship M90. Despite having many common components with the Suzuki Boulevard C90, the M90 is a much more dynamic and powerful model. However, the character of its engine is still cruiser-like - powerful thrust at low speeds and mediocre at high speeds. The M90's riding position isn't quite as relaxed as a classic cruiser - most riders have to stretch their arms and legs forward as the rider's footpegs and handlebars are positioned quite far from the seat.
The Boulevard M90 has been produced since 2009 without any significant changes.

I bought my Truder in December 10th. Dark cherry VZ 1500 / Because I couldn’t stand it anymore. It turned out that it was the last one in Moscow in bikeland, and in general they don’t sell it in Russia anymore... Oh how..... A week ago I finally I picked it up from Voikovskaya and slowly drove off......My experience was getting a driver's license and driving IZHs at the age of 17-18, and I graduated from the PRTmoto school..Sitting down and feeling the vibrations, power and convenience, I realized that this is mine....now we are getting used to each other. Taking fewer motorcycles would be a mockery of the technology (height 194, weight 116 kg). I can’t imagine a more beautiful motorcycle in appearance. (Well, of course the VZ1800 is close to this ideal))))) just a joke))))) It’s still running in, but It gives me half a hand of heat. Around the city I drive quite quickly between the rows, I only lost to endurks once... I’ve already been baptized with a girl, after 2 rows I was turning around at a McDuck on Kievskaya. I managed to brake, chatted a little, the brakes are sooooo impressive. Near the Harley store on Krasnaya Presnya I braked sharply at a traffic light, even the rear wheel locked on the sand... the engine didn’t twitch. Of course, closer to a hundred it starts to blow away (I didn’t install the glass), but it’s deep purple for me, only joy fills me and bursts of adrenaline. There’s not enough elasticity, it seems to me. I don’t want to do it at first. force the vehicle, and on the second you have to balance the clutch and gas in a slow crowd. Any opportunity and I’m driving. My wife went to the store, to the pharmacy across the road, even to my parents’ house, I’m on a motorcycle. I’m angry, of course, but not critical yet) ))))).The most fun is driving along the embankment from the earthen rampart towards Elektrozavodskaya. A bunch of straight turns, both in one direction and in the other... and it doesn’t look like you’re in Moscow at all. I’m now waiting for the Kobrovsky roll bars and a plug instead of the second one. seats. In general, I enjoy it, ride and learn. So if you see a cherry-chocolate VZ1500 somewhere, it’s me))))
Suzuki
Suzuki has been putting a lot of emphasis on performance cruisers in recent years, especially the older M109R and the smaller M50.
But the range of Boulevard motorcycles is so wide that there is a motorcycle for every cruiser fan. Consider the Suzuki Boulevard M90. The name of the motorcycle speaks for itself. The Suzuki Boulevard M90 has clear and efficient origins from the Boulevard M109R. Smaller in size and engine displacement, the M90 is usually reviled as a mid-range cruiser. As you can see, the 1462cc V-Twin engine provides ample power and acceleration inherited from its big brother. The Suzuki Boulevard M90 may be the best cruiser for just over $10,000.
Test Drive
Who's to say that smaller displacement doesn't give a bike its edge in the cruiser world? For example, the redesigned chassis will now accommodate an engine capacity of only 1462 cm3 instead of 1783 cm3. This means that the engine, although less torquey, is less demanding on the chassis, resulting in better handling and more fun to ride.
In addition, the bike is more versatile and more agile when cornering with more lean. Riding a bike like this will make you feel more in control and ask yourself why? The reason for this is the redesigned handlebar-saddle-footpeg triangle. The first ones became 20 cm closer to the base of the pilot, and the footrests became 2.7 cm closer.
The liquid-cooled engine is better tuned than the M109R and is a great solution for a dragster (supercharger preferred). The Boulevard M90 is a more docile interpretation of its older brother.
Peak torque is achieved as early as 2500 rpm, which explains the bike's serious acceleration and amazing exhaust note. Still, the bike requires mastery of the clutch and five-speed gearbox on winding roads.
The brakes, although unlinked, operate crisply and stopping power inspires confidence in all driving situations. I think we'll see ABS in the future.
