The Honda CBR 600 F4i motorcycle has become one of the most successful models in the entire line of sports 600s from. Its creators managed to find the perfect balance between design, technical characteristics, comfort, seasoning it all with branded reliability, and the moderate cost . The bike is still in great demand on the market, despite the fact that it has been discontinued for a long time - the updated model that replaced it has become a more radical sports bike, and because of this, it has lost some of the fans who are accustomed to using the Honda F4i Sport not only as a motorcycle for every day, but also as a sports tourist . Indeed, this model is quite capable of long-distance travel, especially if you equip it with suitable tuning and plan a route along roads of normal quality.
Design
Taking the appearance of the carburetor F4 as a basis, Japanese designers slightly modified it, adding smoothness to the lines. As a result, the bike, which was outdated in appearance, sparkled with new colors, and it looks organic on the roads even now. The commercial success of the model, which was produced for five years, is largely due to its daring appearance with a massive front end and predatory contours of a plastic body kit. Although globally the design has remained virtually unchanged since the release of the Honda SBR 600 F2, that is, since the early 90s. But in F4 Ai it was revised, refined and adjusted to the changing requirements of capricious fashion.
Prices
The price of the Honda CB650F motorcycle on the Russian market, according to the KYUTO auto-motorcycle portal, is now 434,400 rubles. However, this figure can quickly change upward or downward depending on currency quotes on the world market.
At the same time, used motorcycles are more affordable for domestic consumers, the cost of which can differ almost several times from the prices of new motorcycles. Honda models on the used motorcycle market are presented in a very wide range. This is a lightweight urban option, a reliable iron option for a biker, and a rather menacing-looking sportbike. A characteristic feature of Japanese production is the annual changes made to production models of both cars and motorcycles. The changes are aimed both at increasing operating parameters and technical characteristics, and at changing the design of the product in accordance with the trends of the times. At the same time, prices for goods change. The cb 600 is no exception.

Specifications
Strictly speaking, it was the Honda CBR 600 F4i Sport that became the latest modification in the line. After the cessation of its production, the company fell silent for five long years, after which it offered the buyer a completely new CBR 600 F, which has practically nothing in common with its predecessor, except for the name. At the same time, the capabilities of the old F4 are comparable to those of modern competitors, and on the road it will not yield to them. It's simple - for the Honda CBR600F, the technical characteristics were designed mainly by marketers, and for the previous model they were developed by engineers who thought about how to reduce production costs, not in the first place.
Engine
The Honda CBR600F4i engine was borrowed from the previous generation and is almost no different from it, with the exception of an injection power system instead of a carburetor. This is a proven in-line four with liquid cooling , even the power has not changed - 110 hp, 62 Nm of torque . The engine loves speed, and to achieve optimal dynamics it needs to be turned up to 10-12 thousand revolutions, but at the “bottoms” it also behaves tolerably, without the twitching characteristic of forced engines of small cubic capacity at the slightest turn of the throttle. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes, according to various sources, from 3 to 3.5 seconds , that is, the difference is within the error.
Transmission
The gearbox is also carried over from the Honda CBR600F4. This is a classic 6-speed transmission , operating absolutely silently and extremely clearly. Reviews from owners often mention that with timely maintenance, the unit does not cause problems at all, and many of them, over a hundred thousand kilometers, only had to change the clutch, which is actually a consumable.
Chassis and brakes
The alloy frame replaced the steel frame back in the days of production of the carburetor generation, and it went to the Honda CBR600F4i without any changes, which had a positive effect on the weight of the motorcycle. The brakes have also not been changed since the late 90s; the front wheel has two 296 mm discs with 4-piston calipers , and the rear wheel has one 220 mm disc with a 1-piston caliper. Unfortunately, ABS system is not provided , but in general the braking system is sufficiently effective. Moreover, the suspensions contribute to excellent handling, especially with proper tuning. The designers were generous with a fully adjustable 43 mm inverted fork and a rear monoshock (both produced by the famous HMAS brand), also with a full range of adjustments.
Electronics
The Honda CBR600F4i was produced at the beginning of the 21st century, when auxiliary systems had not yet been introduced into all components where they could be implemented. There are no “smart assistants”, traction controls, different engine operating modes and the like here – just good old mechanics with the necessary minimum of electronic components. In case of potential problems, this greatly simplifies troubleshooting, and there is no need for computer diagnostics at the dealer.
Weight and dimensions
The sportbike's curb weight is lower both than that of its predecessors and that of its successor, the CBR600F Sport, only 200 kg . This is not a record, but a decent indicator, so the power output of this model is not bad. And the ergonomics, thought out to the smallest detail, make it very convenient for bikers of any size, although especially tall motorcyclists should think about installing a higher windshield, otherwise they will face a powerful flow of wind into the helmet, from which they can only hide by lying on the tank.
Controllability
Ease of control is one of the strengths of the model. The Honda CBR 600 F4ai steers very easily and predictably, and this is not the case when “predictable” means “boring”. The sportbike maneuvers well both at minimum speed and at 150-180 km/h, and what sets it apart from most other sporty 600s is the smooth behavior of the engine at low speeds, which is very important for city driving.
Fuel consumption
According to official data, average gasoline consumption falls slightly short of 6 liters .
In practice, this figure may differ significantly, both up and down. It all depends on the technical condition of a particular motorcycle, your riding style, fuel quality and a number of other factors. But for simplicity, you can focus on this figure.
Motorcycle modifications
Over the years of production, the sportbike has undergone a number of changes. Here are the main ones:
- Honda CBR600RR 2003. Start of production and sales. The following year there were no noticeable changes, only various little things like changed numbers of some spare parts. Structurally, the Honda CBR600RR 2004 and 2003 model years do not differ in any way, as can be clearly seen from the photo.
- Honda CBR600RR 2005. Second generation release. The motorcycle received an updated frame, swingarm, as well as improved suspension and brakes, while losing 10 kg of weight.
- Honda CBR600RR 2007. Third generation, with which came a new engine. Power, however, increased by only 1 hp, but the bike received an electronic steering damper, and overall began to handle noticeably better thanks to the reduced wheelbase.
- Honda CBR600RR 2008. The production of the third generation continued, but the available color range was significantly expanded.
- Honda CBR600RR 2009. The engine was slightly improved, adding a couple of “horses”, and the installation of an ABS system, working in conjunction with combined brakes, began.
- 2013 - Production of the fourth generation began, and the design was noticeably redesigned. The suspension has been heavily modified. Since then, there have been no noticeable changes until 2021, so we can expect the fifth generation to be released soon.
Motorcycle price
This model was produced from 2001 to 2006 , so the most recent copies are still almost a decade and a half old. So the price on the secondary market is low, 95% of offers are in the range from 200-220 to 300-330 thousand rubles . You need to choose very carefully - despite excellent reliability, a motorcycle still does not last forever, and in the hands of a careless owner it can quickly turn into junk on two wheels, and over the past years, the sportbike that you like has probably passed through many hands.

Description MV Agusta F4 750S 1998
The description of the MV Agusta F4 750S 1998 motorcycle is in the queue for publication of the article. Announcement: Today, for almost every new motorcycle that comes into being, marketers strive to carve out their own niche. This one is a road sport, this one is a recreational enduro. But what class should we include a motorcycle that has a little bit of everything? A good bike should have a reliable engine, comfortable ergonomics and simple controls.
Despite the fact that good models of motorcycles have a very respectable price, and the season for their use is relatively short, the motorcycle market is developing rapidly. And if you believe the words of dealers, then some models of recently released motorcycles are selling like hot cakes at the beginning of the season, and the models brought to Russia are clearly not enough to fully satisfy consumer demand.
A motorcycle has long ceased to be an alternative to a car, and the times when this equipment was bought only because there was not enough money for a full-fledged car are forgotten. Nowadays, two-wheelers can be called technological marvels in many cases, and their cost can be compared with that of prestigious cars.
Many people have started buying motorcycles for hobby purposes as riding or even collecting them has become a good pastime for many people. Many motorcycles, for example the MV Agusta F4 750S, whose technical characteristics make it possible to call the model a prestigious brand, are in demand among both beginners and experienced motorcyclists.
Currently, it is impossible to purchase a new MV Agusta F4 750S motorcycle from the 1998 model year, since their production stopped 18 years ago. At the same time, the MV Agusta F4 750S has excellent technical characteristics, so many people strive to purchase, if not a new, then at least a used version.
Motorcycles with an engine capacity of 749 cc. see, appeared as a result of long work of inventors who sought to create a model that was not inferior in characteristics to other versions of the motorcycle. In some cases, these models are not only not inferior, but also ahead of other motorcycles, as they have minimal fuel consumption and other excellent parameters.
Motorcycles with an engine capacity of more than 400 kb. cm, which includes the MV Agusta F4 750S - this category of motorcycles simply cannot claim the title of “motorcycle for a beginner.” On the contrary, this is already a serious technique that requires certain control of motorcycle equipment with a smaller engine capacity. Yes, she attracts more attention, she is the most beautiful, fast, interesting and there is a huge selection of models. But as power increases, the weight of the motorcycle inevitably increases. In this class you are unlikely to find motorcycles lighter than 180 kg, unless they are the latest motorcycle models.

Troubleshooting Tips for Java Motorcycles
For those who ride Java motorcycles The editors receive many letters from Java motorcycle owners. They ask for advice on troubleshooting problems that appear during operation. The editors turned to experts and are publishing their answers to these questions. The mechanic of the Moscow workshop for warranty repair of Java and Chezet motorcycles, V. T. BOIKO, tells the story. About malfunctions of the clutch mechanism, gearbox and kick-sterter Clutch mechanism. If a correctly adjusted clutch does not engage smoothly, but jerkily, then to determine the defect it is necessary to disassemble the clutch. First of all, remove the left cover. The shift pedal does not need to be removed before this: it should be installed in the gear shift position, and not in the engine start position. The pedal is removed along with the cover and shift shaft (be careful not to lose the release shaft cover). Before removing the cover, drain the oil from the gearbox housing or place the motorcycle on its right side.
Recommendations for owners of heavy motorcycles
I do this. The author of the proposed material is engineer S. NAUMOV from Irbit, an experienced motorcycle tourist who has repeatedly participated in long-distance and difficult test and tourist trips on Ural motorcycles. His recommendations, prompted and tested by experience, will undoubtedly be useful to all owners of heavy motorcycles. And maybe not only them. For ease of presentation, I have divided my proposals by topic. And I'll start with electrical equipment. To facilitate the installation of two series-connected ZMT-6 batteries, you need to cut a 30 mm wide ring from an old motorcycle camera and put it on two cans at once. Or better yet, two such rings, placing them at the top and bottom of the jars. Rice. 1. Connecting the terminals of two batteries with a plate, installing a rubber ring 30 mm wide. I advise you to connect the “+” terminals of one battery and the “-” terminals with another plate made of stainless steel or tinned copper (Fig. 1), and the terminals from which.
Repair of front fork and gearbox of IZH motorcycles
It happens that when you hit an obstacle, the fork cannot withstand the impact and its feathers bend. If the deformation is small, it works for some time, but at the same time the bushings and oil seals wear out intensively and the time for repair is approaching by leaps and bounds. If the impact was strong enough, the fork stops working immediately, since the curved pipes do not move relative to each other. It is usually not possible to straighten them, and only replacement can help. But this, as they say, is an emergency situation. With normal use, the fork lasts a long time. And malfunctions such as breakdowns (knock when compressed all the way) or knock during reverse stroke are usually explained by a lack of fluid or its low viscosity and are easily eliminated. However, over time, the bushings wear out, the rubber of the seals ages, loses elasticity - and then repairs will not be possible. Its complexity and volume depend on whether you noticed the first unpleasant symptoms in time: fluid leakage, play and the sound of a sliding pipe. The last two.
About the operation of IZh motorcycles. Owners' Questions Answered (1965)
Answers to questions from owners Now the motorcycle season is in full swing. Owners of IZhs, the most popular motorcycles in our country, have a lot of questions. Our readers V. Metreveli (Batumi), V. Konenko (Kharkov), Y. Nekrasov (Moscow), E. Elyashov (Odessa), A. Demchenko (Tbilisi) write about this to the editor ) and many others. Questions from owners of IZH motorcycles are answered by engineers of the Izhevsk Machine-Building Plant V. Abrahamyan and V. Rozhnov. ON THE IZH-JUPITER MOTORCYCLE OF THE FIRST PRODUCTION, THE CYLINDERS SOMETIMES OPERATE UNEVENLY. WILL WE ELIMINATE THIS DEFECT AND WHAT ARE ITS REASONS? WILL INSTALLING ONE BREAKER AND A TWO-SPARK COIL HELP? Yes, indeed, on some motorcycles the cylinders operate unevenly. Special studies carried out at the plant revealed that this unevenness is mainly caused by two defects. The first is the projections between the nozzle chamber and the carburetor body (Fig. 1), supplied by Len.
Take care of the generator
Owners of IZH motorcycles If the generator indicator lamp on an IZH motorcycle comes on while driving, stop immediately, even when you are almost at your goal. The fact is that most often the generator fails due to a loose fit of the brushes to the commutator. The electrical resistance in this section of the circuit increases, the temperature rises greatly, which quickly leads to charring and interturn short circuit of the armature winding (established through bitter experience). To avoid this, restore contact of the brushes with the commutator by cleaning the brush holder (due to accumulated dirt, the brushes lose mobility ) clean the rings on the commutator or replace excessively worn brushes or weakened springs. It happens that you cannot fix the problem along the way, then turn off the generator by disconnecting one brush. You can get home “on battery power.” During the day, its capacity is enough for more than one hundred kilometers.V. ALEXEEV347927 Taganrog, st. Novo-Vatutina, 17, apt. 8.1980N06P33
Repair and tuning
Affordable maintenance costs and ease of maintenance are another reason why this motorcycle is so popular. Not everyone has the desire or ability to spend money on visits to branded services, but this bike provides all the opportunities to do it in your own garage.
Repair
Honda TsBR F4 is a representative of an almost extinct class of fully repairable motorcycles. Almost all of its components can be repaired, and not simply replaced, unlike more modern technology. Do-it-yourself repairs are entirely possible if you have the appropriate skills. As a last resort, you can always contact any normal motorcycle service.
Spare parts
Most of the spare parts are suitable for the CBR 600F4, since the engines, gearboxes, chassis and many other components of these bikes are almost identical. Over the years of production, the Japanese company has riveted a huge number of models, so in general there are no problems with finding parts. You can always order new spare parts, original or not, or look for used ones, of which there are also plenty.
Tuning
There are a huge number of available tuning options; different companies offer interesting solutions even now, despite the fact that the Honda CBR600F4i has not been produced for a long time. Quickshifters, luggage systems, windshields, firmware for injectors - you can buy anything you want, not to mention little things like grips, mirrors, sliders and similar little things.
Tuning and expenses
Honda CBR600 F4i is a real stadium for lovers of upgrades and tuning. Today in European and American catalogs you can find a bunch of different “gadgets” for this motorcycle, which can affect the speed, and also do not touch this option in any way. From creative plastics to everyone's favorite stand that's a must-have for long-distance travel. There is also a large selection of direct-flow mufflers and zero filters. There is, however, one point - experienced professionals advise installing Power Commander along with the “easy breathing” system. The fact is that the changed pressure at the inlet and outlet significantly worsens the operation of the engine with standard brains.
60-tooth driven sprockets, cross handlebars with brackets, as well as auxiliary brake calipers, cage bars and yokes - all this can be found in almost every street catalog that respects itself and its clients.
The range of tourist body kits is also extensive. Gel saddles and pannier systems, touring glasses and much more that a truck driver needs.
What remains to be added? The only thing is that a motorcycle of this class is, perhaps, one of the best options that is suitable for almost everyone who wants to ride on two wheels.
Advantages and disadvantages
The Honda CBR600F4i turned out to be a very balanced motorcycle , but it shows an attempt by the designers to flirt with both the sportbike class and the sport-tourist class at the same time. But the result of this bold experiment turned out to be very worthy, although not without some specific shortcomings.
Advantages
- Incredible reliability . 100 thousand kilometers for this engine is far from the limit.
- Spacious gas tank , as much as 18 liters. On a long journey, you can safely count on a range of up to 300 km, if you don’t drive too fast.
- Excellent dynamics , comparable to the dynamics of “liter” sportbikes.
- Standardization with many other Honda models on a number of components, which makes it easier to find spare parts.
- level of comfort by class standards .
Flaws
- Lack of ABS , which does not go well with impressive dynamics.
- Weak light from the headlight . Most owners eliminate this drawback by replacing standard optics with xenon, but this is fraught with problems with the traffic police.
- When driving through traffic jams in the heat, the engine gets noticeably hot . He is not in danger of overheating, but his legs get hot.
- Small steering angle , which makes maneuvering at near-zero speeds difficult.
Owner reviews
An excellent bike, comfortable and convenient, after traveling 800+ km with short stops at a gas station, I didn’t even have the desire to warm up, nothing stiffened or hurt. The standard windshield is enough for my height (174 cm), up to 160 mph you can’t even lie on the tank, and it doesn’t blow. The seating position is close to classic, the load on the back and arms appears only when lying on the tank, that is, when driving at very high speeds, and I don’t drive like that. My cruiser on the highway is about 150-160, if you drive faster, fuel consumption increases sharply, but it fits within 6 liters quite well. I always use 92nd grade gasoline, everything is ok, preventive cleaning of the injector showed that the gasoline is good, no dirt was found. Sergey, Rostov-on-Don.
The model is ideal in many respects - the engine is torquey, comes to life after 7000 rpm, the suspension is complete stuffing with a set of adjustments, there are also enough brakes. If this model were still in production, I would take a new one without hesitation. I changed the bike myself in 2021, tried a tourenduro - it didn’t work for me, I started looking at sports again. The more recent Honda 600F didn’t work at all; I ended up taking the Fyzhera 1300, but it’s already a heavyweight compared to the F4i. Grigory, St. Petersburg.
I took it as my first moto, although I knew that it was not a toy, so I rode carefully. The first impression was not very good - the motor is rolly at low speeds, the engine is torsional, I was scared at first. Gradually I got used to it, began to fry it to the fullest, in three and a half seasons I wound up almost 40k, I drove with panniers at sea, and around Kazakhstan, and wherever I went. There were no serious breakdowns during the entire period, only minor ones that were inevitable due to the age of the bike. Alexander, Kazan.
Honda CBR 600 f4 review
Author of the article: Moto Moto
You can often see the Honda CBR 600 F4i sports motorcycle on the roads. It is often recommended for beginners or experienced motorcyclists who are tired of high speeds and want a quiet ride on city roads. The Honda CBR600F4i is a universal bike - it is suitable for both long trips outside the city and for performing various simple tricks on the race track.
As for the engine, it is reliable and has low oil consumption. The gearbox is renowned for its excellent smooth operation. The noise made by the clutch basket at neutral speed should be taken calmly, as this is a completely normal phenomenon. The suspension is quite technologically advanced, providing the device with excellent handling, but it is noticeably inferior in terms of dynamism to sports bikes. The frame is considered very durable, which is a big plus for fans of dangerous stunts. In general, before purchasing, you should look at the review of the Honda CBR 600 F4.
The SBR 600F series of bikes has a rich history; today the most famous modifications are: with a carburetor engine F4, with an injection engine - F4i and F4i sport. The Honda F4i Sport is a sports model, so the selection of components for this bike should be done after carefully reading the description and taking into account the features, since the slightest error in assembly can lead to tragic consequences for the driver. Sports motorcycles have an engine tuned for more aggressive operation, as well as improved suspensions, the absence of a center stand and a special seat designed for tricks.
Motorcycle Features
The Honda CBR600F4i bike has one unpleasant feature, which is associated with flaws in the frame design - timing chain runout. This effect is caused by a spring installed that is too soft. If you replace the part with an original one, you can achieve a short-term positive result. You should be careful with the Hiss anti-theft system, as the loss of a special key can result in large expenses. For those wishing to purchase a bike, there is a good opportunity to search for the model of interest on the Russian market, but you can also check the availability on the foreign market. Please note that Japanese versions of the motorcycle require additional work to bleed the engine after purchase. American versions, as can be seen in the corresponding photos and videos, do not have an immobilizer and digitization in miles on the speedometer.
The brake system of the Honda CBR600F4i is designed in such a way that stopping will be smoother than that of other Honda bikes. The upright seating position adds comfort to the driver when driving long distances. The four-cylinder engine is liquid cooled and has 4 valves on each cylinder. Thanks to the smooth operation of the engine, the speed increases quickly, but without jerking. The engine is started using an electric starter. The ignition system is completely electronically controlled. The gearbox is distinguished by reliability in operation and precision of gear shifting. The suspension on the Honda CBR600F4i can be adjusted to suit your driving style and road surface conditions.

To form a complete picture of the Honda CBR 600 F4i bike, as when describing other equipment, it is worth providing full technical specifications.
Similar models
- Kawasaki ZX-6R. extremely popular sportbike that has gone through countless restylings and upgrades.
- Yamaha XJ6 Diversion F, also known as FZ-6R. An easy-to-handle and easy-going road warrior in the guise of a sports motorcycle.
- Suzuki GSX-600R. A much more “angry” and radical bike , which was created primarily for the race track, and not for everyday riding.
FAQ
- How does it differ in fuel consumption compared to the carbureted F4? Insignificant, on average within 0.5-0.7 liters.
- With a height of 196 cm, won’t it be tight on him? In general, no, judging by the reviews of the owners. But in this case, you should immediately look for a windshield of increased height to avoid discomfort.
- I heard that its suspension is too soft for the track. This is true? Not really. Of course, this is not a radical sportbike like the Yamaha YZF-R1, but the suspension can be tuned to become much stiffer.
Conclusion
This model is a rare example of a successful experiment at the junction of two classes . Powerful enough and well-equipped for the track, it is perfect for the role of a motorcycle for every day, and it can handle long journeys too. Of course, it has its shortcomings, but they pale in comparison to its many advantages. Perhaps the only serious disadvantage of the Honda CBR600 F4i is the considerable age of all copies.

Reviews from Suzuki GSX 750 F owners
Suzuki GSX 750 F, 1998
“Katana” came to me from Germany. There was a choice between the Honda CBR1000 and the Suzuki GSX 750 F, I fell in love with the Katana at first sight, and the sound was like a song. My friends were all jealous, it was beautiful (what one brake light is worth), moderately powerful (750 is still the “golden mean”), obedient. Here is the first morning trip around the city. The weaker sex simply melted when they saw the Suzuki GSX 750 F, they smiled, waved their hands, and when you get closer, you give the gas, they squeal and jump. Of course, the men ran up with the words: “Bro, let me take you for a ride,” “Bro, I’ll give you the keys to the car, let me take you for a ride,” “Take me for a ride, I want to sober up,” “Take me home.” Of course, conflicts arose; I don’t hesitate to say that blood was shed for the Suzuki GSX 750 F. When it was raining for the second day, I couldn’t stand it and went to the garage, at least start it, give it some gas in the garage, and eventually rolled out. It was just as much fun to ride as on a bright, warm day, except that then I had to wash it thoroughly. This bike is an ocean of fun. I got carried away with something. I got into an accident due to the fault of the woman behind the car, the fork was slightly bent, the headlight needed to be replaced, and the plastic broke. However, I still rode it before the snow, without a headlight or plastic. But very, very carefully. The brakes are informative, the engine came to me with a mileage of 71,000 km, no problems, acceleration is moderately calm, handling is excellent, I set it up as a sport bike, very comfortable (height 187, weight 91), went on long-distance trips, no health complaints. I can recommend it even to beginners, but with caution.
Advantages
: Beautiful. Maneuverable. Reliable. Obedient. Comfortable. Moderately frisky.
Flaws
: attracts attention.
Suzuki GSX 750 F, 1999
I sold my Katana and decided to leave a review about this motorcycle. She stayed with me for two seasons. In the first season, when I switched to a Suzuki GSX 750 F after the SV-400, I couldn’t be happier with it; it suited me in every way. The motorcycle weighs 210 kg, holds the road excellently, turns well, the brakes are also okay, but worse than on the Jixer. In the city there are no problems in traffic jams either, it’s a little heavy, but you quickly get used to it. The seating position is very comfortable, the clip-ons are higher than the traverse, long-distance riding is his strong point. A very convenient “sport-tourist”. Consumption is about 7 liters. You can “fire it up” on it, the engine spins up to 11500. “Willy” doesn’t, which is a shame, as I didn’t try to lift it - it’s useless, even with the gas, even with the clutch. We can recommend it as a second motorcycle for a beginner, well, for example, after 400 hundred parts. I sold the Suzuki GSX 750 F because I was no longer satisfied with the dynamics, I wanted a liter. Although I considered Hayabusa as an alternative, I wanted naked sport, and Busa won’t get away from me. In short, the Suzuki GSX 750 F “Katana” is a good and, moreover, very inexpensive sports tourer in its class.
Advantages
: beautiful in appearance. Comfortable. Excellent road holding.
Flaws
: serious ones not noticed.
Suzuki GSX 750 F, 1998
I bought a motorcycle from 1998 in 2004, a full-power 750. Mileage over 2 years is about 15,000 km. Quite good wind protection - a simple and very reliable air-oil-cooled engine that does not heat up. Good stability at high speeds. Good suspension - adjustable rear shock absorber, plus front fork (sufficient adjustments). In long-distance rides, the rear remains intact, because the saddle is soft. Not expensive to maintain. Now the downsides are that your hands get a little tired, because... sport-tourist landing. On my copy, I was never able to overcome the floating engine speed. It’s uncomfortable for me to sit at a height of 178 cm; at high speed the wind blows my knees apart. I couldn’t find or order protection, dropped it a couple of times on the spot - the plastic mount (ear) flew off. I didn't complain about the weight. You need to carefully choose the front tires. It is better to choose the one that sticks more. What I didn't like significantly. When braking sharply from 60-80, the slightest movement of the steering wheel leads to a hard “wobbling”. A damper is needed because... Dear thing, I got out of the situation simply - the expander helped. In general, very positive reviews.
Advantages
: decent wind protection. Engine. Stability at speeds. Reliability.
Flaws
: landing. Wobbling when braking.
Suzuki GSX 750 F, 2001
I am very familiar with this device; a close friend had the previous generation. Mechanically, the Suzuki GSX 750 F is a Bandit 750, slightly retuned for the top end (there, in my opinion, a little less than 100 hp). It differs mainly in the frame and the presence of plastic. The brakes are different, in my opinion, but also good. The fork, in my opinion, is the same (good). Air cooling is not a problem. At least in the Minsk climate, I won’t consider the situation of standing in a traffic jam for 5 hours at 35 degrees - I haven’t checked. You can, of course, overheat, you can break everything if you want, but this is very difficult. From a purely “user” point of view, the difference will be that the engine will warm you up well, plus the mechanics are audible. It rattles, taps, rings, crackles - whatever. “Vozdushka” has a certain disadvantage - you need to fill in more oil than usual and the replacement according to the manual is quite frequent. But there is no cooling system, fan, pump and a bunch of other unnecessary parts. In terms of characteristics, this is absolutely not a sport. As a sports tourer, this is a good, soft, comfortable long-range motorcycle. I heard complaints about the chassis only if they tried to portray a “Jixer” on it. No, this is not "Jixer". The motorcycle is very comfortable and friendly. At least, these are the first words that owners usually say. Calm, measured driving of 140 km/h on normal roads all day long without much stress. Reliability and service. "Gangster" Which is kind of natural. Easy access to the units, convenient adjustments, relaxed layout. Like all Bandits, the Suzuki GSX 750 F is quite loyal to bad gasoline. But without fanaticism.
Advantages
: Excellent sports traveler. Easy to maintain. Reliable.
