Evolution of the Lada emblem (11 photos)

The emblem means a rook.. In addition, if you look closely, you can see the Latin letter L.. It has long been known that when the plant was launched in Stavropol-on-Volga, they first built a Zhiguli car, in honor of the Zhiguli Mountains, which are located nearby.. But when decided to supply abroad, then in French Zhiguli is consonant with gigolo.. Therefore, they decided to announce a competition for a new name, primarily for export.. Before this, the song “No need to frown, Lada” appeared, and so they decided to name the car like that. Well, as for the quality of the cars that are assembled at AvtoVAZ, then in this situation the management is primarily to blame.. In addition, it is known that criminals Berezovsky and Pakatsershvili at one time began to make a fortune at VAZ by robbing it.. There were also gangster groups at the plant .. Now, apparently, the situation in the leadership remains the same: the plant is a cash cow of thieves who at one time grabbed it and do not know how to manage it.. But this situation is fair in the whole country, when the same partycrats are still in power - Soviets, fused with bandits, ruining the country and are a hundred times more dangerous for the people than the USA, Europe, China combined.

Yes, it looks like some kind of ancient Russian or Viking ship. My opinion did not go into detail. Because I drive a Suzuki myself. And Lada, as it was Lada, is Lada Lada. They are trying to change something in her. It looks like we need to change the Lada badge, maybe people will be drawn to a car with this badge.

Tachometer, speedometer, on-board computer indicators, light bulbs - all these components are located on the Lada instrument panel. The “tidy” is designed to display the current state of various Lada Priora systems. An experienced motorist will immediately notice that one of the components requires repair; a certain icon will inform him about this. If you are a novice driver, then it will be useful for you to study the Lada Priora dashboard. This material provides a detailed description of each element of the tidy.

Dashboard indicator symbols

When starting up, almost all the icons on the dashboard light up - this way the operation of the light bulbs is checked. Some drivers believe that these are messages about malfunctions of some Lada Priora systems.

The exclamation mark is on - what to do?

We have noticed that new topics often appear on car forums where drivers ask about the exclamation marks that are displayed on the Lada Priora panel. They rarely specify where it is lit and what is depicted on the icon. In this section we have collected a small FAQ Below are all the exclamation marks that can light up on the instrument panel of a VAZ 2170 car. The designations of these icons are as follows:

  • The red exclamation mark in the circle (bottom) is lit. The indicator indicates that there is a problem with the vehicle's brake system. This is usually a low brake fluid level. Add it to the tank and, most likely, the sign will stop lighting. If this does not happen, then it is worth checking the system for damaged components. When igniting, the indicator lights up for 4 seconds and then goes off.
  • The red exclamation mark in the triangle/circle (above) is lit. Modern versions use a triangle instead of a circle. The indicator tells us about defects in the operation of the brake force distributor. Use extreme caution if the light comes on while driving.
  • Exclamation mark next to the steering wheel icon. When illuminated for a long time, it indicates a malfunction in the electric power steering (EPS). Like other icons, it lights up when ignited and goes out after a few seconds if the system is working properly.

Sometimes the indication is caused by faults in the electronics. Terminals are coming off, contacts are oxidized, defects in the on-board computer are a few reasons for the random appearance of icons. To avoid damaging one of the systems, check the electronics first. To do this, it is enough to dismantle the device on the Lada Priora and see if the terminals are securely seated in the sockets. If the brake system indicator lights up, first check the fluid level in the reservoir, and only then fill in new antifreeze.

Preface

In Soviet times, they did not bother with the particular complexity of depicting trademarks, although the story of the UAZ Swallow, which led to claims from Opel, is indicative in itself (the emblem had to be replaced). Pardon the tautology, the scary-looking “VID” logo, resembling either the first president of Russia or an old witch with a toad on her head, was invented by the wife of Vlad Listyev, a well-known TV presenter and journalist in the nineties of the last century. In fact, the mask of the famous eastern philosopher from Ancient China, Hou Xiang, was taken as a basis. The logo of the upcoming world football champion in Russia visually repeats the award for winning it - the cup. And the three main emblems should evoke associations with love for: football, space exploration and, through iconography, God.

The topic of this article is the logos of the Lada car. The history of their creation, interesting and related facts about them. These logos are from that series of world brands that everyone speaks to themselves, once you see them or reproduce their image using an associative connection.

In what cases is it necessary to remove the instrument panel?

Dismantling the Priora tidy is required for tuning or replacing burnt out lamps. The VAZ 2170 is a modern model, so there are not many fastenings on the panel. To disassemble you will need a set of screwdrivers. Don't forget to turn off the negative battery.

    The process begins with removing the mounting block. To do this, you need to turn the latches on the fuse cover and then remove it;

The Amulet of the Virgin Mary, or as it is also called the Star of Lada, has magical powers. Its uniqueness is that it “works” in many directions simultaneously. The amulet belongs to female talismans and it is good if every representative of the fairer sex has one.

Dashing nineties

In the early nineties of the last century, along with the whole country, AvtoVAZ was experiencing a crisis. The plant could, despite the crisis, actually become “fabulously rich,” since the cost of production was less than half the real price of the car. But the plant didn’t get anything - everything was taken by resellers who swarmed around AvtoVAZ like bugs, sucking out every last ruble. The manufacturer was confidently heading towards bankruptcy.

At the same time, it was also a time of radical change. Of course, they also affected the Lada logo. In the West they borrowed the oval shape. The boat was stylized as the Latin letter S, and the sail as a V (intentionally or not, the result was the famous ancient Roman abbreviation meaning “against”). White arcs emanated from the sail in different directions, forming another, this time, unfinished oval. The background is blue, as is the word LADA in large font.

In terms of its execution and the philosophy of the Western type of thinking, the trademark has turned into a full-fledged logo of the Lada VAZ. We have long seen plastic with a chrome plate in cars of the “tenth” Lada family.

Description of the Lada Star

The beginning of all life on the planet was laid between the gods - Svarog and Lada. In the culture of every nation, ideas about the creation of the world were based on the intertwining of masculine and feminine principles. For the Slavs, they were Svarog and Lada; they turned out to be an example of love between husband and wife, fidelity, and procreation.

Following the example, people began to distribute family responsibilities: Lada is a gentle, refined nature, the keeper of the hearth, and Svarog is a fierce breadwinner for his family. In this couple, the wife felt like she was behind a stone wall.

In culture, a lot of attention was paid to the fairer sex. This does not mean that women need to be bowed down, no.

Already at that time, a woman had many responsibilities: maintaining a household, housekeeping, giving birth and raising a child, courting her husband. A lot depended on the wife.

From an early age, girls were instilled with respect for elders, hard work and respect for traditions. Our ancestors cared about the spiritual development of man. Already at that time there were many amulets that were created to protect girls from all sorts of evil spirits.

The Star of Lada amulet is of great importance for the Slavic people. It has found its application in the daily life of our people. He is able to protect the female half of the population from evil spirits.

From “kopeck” to “eight”

Already on the very first Zhiguli model, the VAZ-2101 sedan, the emblem began to change. The version of the sign without the inscription “Togliatti” also had a wider upper part, and the pronounced “facetedness” of the edging disappeared. And on the VAZ-2103 model the sign changed again - the boat itself slightly changed its proportions, stretched out, and the edging “turned over”, and now the narrower part was not at the top, but at the bottom. Overall, the sign became almost rectangular. Actually, through the efforts of the VAZ Style Center, it nevertheless acquired a clearly rectangular shape, but somewhat later, at the stage of a deeper modernization of the “classics”, the VAZ-2106 model.

Technologically, the first versions of the VAZ emblem were a rather complex product, consisting of several parts. It is believed that the “canonical” Zhiguli emblem contains a relief chrome-plated boat, a chrome-plated edging, and a background covered with ruby varnish, through which volumetric waves shine through, creating the effect of an ancient Russian boat floating on water. These were the emblems on models “first” through “third”, and they remained like this on the first “sixes”, although the sign itself on the VAZ-2106 became, as we already know, rectangular.

However, on the “sixes” of later years of production, especially in the post-Soviet period, the rook lost its former luster - the inner surface of the badge overlay was painted not with red varnish, but with black paint, as a result of which the relief “waves” on it ceased to be read. Now on the Internet you can find numerous know how - recipes for bringing the late rough “six” emblem to an elegant “canonical” look. Note that VAZ-2106 emblems from early years of production are also highly valued on the market - for example, the site from which we borrowed the photo offers such an emblem for 50 euros.

On the “fives”, “sevens” and “eights” the background in the form of waves was completely abandoned - the emblem became much simpler in technological terms, chrome, steel and varnish were replaced by cheaper plastic. And the sign itself continued to “mutate”, and if on the VAZ-2105 the proportions of the rook were close to the earlier models, then on the VAZ-2108 it was slightly “flattened”, and more noticeable roundings appeared along the perimeter of the sign, at the corners of the edging.

Goddess Lada Mother of God

Our ancestors treated the goddess Lada with special respect. This amulet is the patron of a long married life. Since ancient times, men of Slavic origin called their lovers “ladushki.”

The goddess was revered by our ancestors, which is why in the paintings she is depicted as a young, well-groomed woman with beautiful hair.

Why did our ancestors love the goddess so much? It was believed that Lada was the foremother of the gods. People turned to her with a plea for help for their family, for recovery.

Purchase of AtoVAZ shares by the Renault-Nissan alliance

In June 2014, the Renault-Nissan alliance increased its share in AvtoVAZ shares to more than 2/3. And the next year a rebranding took place, which also included the Lada Priora logos. The new (developed by chief designer Steve Mattin) and so far the latest emblem has already appeared on all Lada cars produced since then - Lada Kalina, Lada Granta, Lada Priora, Lada Vesta, Lada Xray ", "Lada Largus" and "Lada 4x4".

The logo became larger, convex and voluminous (wits called it 3D with sails), the blue color was removed and one full oval remained. Expert opinions, as always, are divided. Many people praise the new logo, while others also blaspheme it indiscriminately. Let's give a neutral opinion about the oval. In car emblems, the oval occupies a share of about 1/3 (this oval is closest to Ford’s) and if the restyling should convince the buyer that the Lada is the most automobile car, then the goal has been achieved.

The meaning of the Star of Lada amulet

The amulets are somewhat similar in appearance, but their purpose is completely different, because the amulet of the Square of Svarog is a male sign. Svarog is the creator of rivers, mountains, lakes, valleys and all gods.

Our ancestors created talismans from available materials - clay, thread, wood, metal. In every home, the amulet was given a place of honor. The symbol of the Lada Star occupied a place of honor in the house; it could even be embroidered on clothes. For what purpose was this done? Lada was considered an intercessor who could save every person from trouble and death.

Our ancestors believed in the magical abilities of the amulet and that it could save the house from trouble, damage, and evil spirits. The Slavs believed that the amulet of the Star of Lada could save people from witchcraft. They carried the amulet with them and believed that at any moment they could ask Lada for help.

Incident with the inscription TOGLYATTI

But nevertheless, the “kopek” came out with a new emblem (in total, the logo was modified six times), symbolizing the Volga River and the Russian boats that sailed along it in ancient times. The author A. Dekalenkov set himself the task of making the Russian letter B, that is, Volga, visible in the outline of the boat.

At the bottom he wrote “TOGLIATTI”. Togliatti is a city (formerly Stavropol-Volzhsky), stretching along the banks of the Volga. Renamed in honor of the then General Secretary of the Italian Communist Party - Palmiro Togliatti. In this city, in 1966, a plant was launched for the mass production of a “national” car.

Dekalenkov’s sketch was finalized and put into production. There was an incident with the sign “TOGLYATTI”. In Turin, instead of the Russian letter I, they printed the Latin R, that is, they mirrored the Russian letter. This batch of emblems (30 pieces) did not reach the car itself and was dismantled into private collections. Currently it is valued very expensively by collectors.

The VAZ-2101 was released in 1970 with this emblem, but soon the inscription was removed, since reference to the place of production is not accepted in heraldry. We also removed the angularity of the border and made the top of the logo wider. This is how he reached the third model. On the VAZ-2103, the emblem became almost rectangular and ruby in color, through which river waves could be seen. On the VAZ-2106, the waves disappeared, as the varnish color was changed to black, and the emblem itself became clearly rectangular. On the VAZ-2105 and VAZ-2108 models, chrome and steel were replaced with cheaper and more practical plastic. What is noteworthy is that on the Soviet G8 the sign appeared slightly flattened. This is how the car was produced until 2003.

Using the symbol

The Star of Lada amulet was made close to the woman for whom it was intended. If a girl had neither a mother, nor a grandmother, nor a sister, then her own father could make a talisman for her. The girl for whom the amulet was made could help in its manufacture. To create the amulet, only light shades were used.

Modern girls also wear pendants, earrings, and bracelets with the image of Lada the Virgin. Some even get tattoos on their back or arm. It is believed that such a tattoo is endowed with magical powers and can protect the girl from misfortunes.
