- Changing the sedum filter. Sometimes, when the filter does not want to be unscrewed by hand, a special puller can be useful; with it you can unscrew any filter, even a very tightly clamped one. Do not forget to lubricate the rubber ring on the new filter, and also saturate the inner paper element with new oil. Lack of oil in the new filter before starting the engine can cause oil starvation, which in turn can cause filter deformation. Overall this is not a good thing. Also remember to lubricate the rubber O-ring before installation.
- Fill in new oil. Having made sure that the drain plug is screwed in and a new oil filter is installed, we can begin to fill in new oil using the dipstick as a guide. The level should be between the minimum and maximum marks. Also, you need to remember that after the first start of the engine, some oil will leave and the level will drop.
- In the future, when the engine is running, the oil level will probably change; be careful during the first few days of operation. Recheck the oil level using the dipstick after the first start.

Wipe the filter seat with a clean rag. - Lubricate the rubber ring of the new filter element to avoid ruptures during installation and tighten it with a force of 40 Hm. We use a torque wrench. Without tools, we do the same with a filter remover or with our hands. Turn it ¾ of a turn after the rubber band touches the engine housing.
- Tighten the drain bolt.
- Fill in new engine oil. The total volume of required lubricant in the system is 3.7 liters.

- After unscrewing the plug on the oil pan, let the oil drain into a prepared container. Do not rush to completely unscrew the plug. Turn it gradually until oil starts flowing. - Be careful during the first couple of hours, because due to a warm engine, the oil may not only be hot, but also come out under pressure.
- The process of expressing the oil will take about 10 minutes. If you decide not to warm up the engine, then you will have to wait even longer.
- Be sure to remove the old oil filter on the VAZ 2114, which is located at the rear on the passenger side. It is usually easily removed by hand, but sometimes it does not just give in. Use a special key.
- When there is also no key to remove the filter, insert a screwdriver into the housing. Using it as a lever, the oil filter is eventually removed. But this is an extreme measure, which is still not recommended.

- To make it more convenient to pour liquid into the engine from a container with oil, use a small funnel;
- First fill in approximately 2.7 liters of oil;
- Whether you add it or not can be checked using a dipstick;
- Wait a while for the oil to settle;
- Now take the dipstick and check the level. Optimally, the oil should be at a level between the Max and Min marks indicated on the dipstick.
