The domestic 2-cylinder engine RMZ 500 is an analogue, or rather a complete copy of the “authoritative” ROTAX 503.
With the domestic quality of “reproduction” I lost 2 hp of power, but otherwise it was quite affordable on a budget
and a very reliable engine. RMZ 550 is an attempt (increased displacement slightly) to gain lost power
when copying ROTAX. Otherwise, they are no different from 500 thousand.

Multi-purpose utility snowmobile of the WideTrack class with a good price-functionality ratio.
A distinctive feature of the model is its almost perfect balance. Thanks to the low center of gravity, the overall center of mass is aligned with the drive axle of the snowmobile. The engine and other technical components in the engine compartment are similar to the flagship model TAIGA VARYAG 550 V.
The front suspension is telescopic with a travel of 150 mm. Rear suspension travel 190 mm. The hydropneumatic shock absorber with torsion springs has a sufficient reserve of energy capacity to provide the snowmobile with a smooth ride on any surface.
TAIGA VARYAG 550 V SE is equipped with a Composit track with a width of 500 mm.
The model is equipped with a two-level seat, heated handles and gas trigger, mechanical brake, and towbar.

ROTAX 582 piston engine is a gasoline, two-stroke, two-cylinder, in-line cylinder, with a liquid cooling system, with a rotating disc valve for intake control, with an electronic duplicate ignition system, with carburetor mixture formation. The engine is equipped with a resonant type exhaust system. The engine starting system may have a manual or/and electric starter(s). An integrated 12-pole generator powers the engine ignition system and the airboat's electrical system. For mounting to the motor mount, the engine has four threaded rods on the bottom of the crankcase. Electronic ignition system “DUCATI”
Its main purpose is the engine for the Taiga snowmobile and spare parts for it, which can be found in any specialized stores. And this is one of its main advantages over the Rotax engine.
In addition to two-stroke engines, airboats also use four-stroke engines. Usually no one discovers America and uses car engines from well-known manufacturers. As you know, the movement of an airboat is produced by the rotation of the propeller, and the propeller rotates the engine, connects the engine and the propeller gearbox. The most common engines in airboats are Subaru engines with gear reducers. These engines have a power of more than 120 horsepower and are opposed, that is, horizontal, which makes it possible to mount them at a height of half the diameter of the propeller on the frame of the airboat. This makes it possible to make the center of gravity lower than, say, a Suzuki or Honda engine, which of course increases the stability of the airboat. As we know, airboats use mainly Japanese engines, this is due to the fact that the majority of engines are contract ones (they have already been used on cars), and the spread of airboats began in the Far East, where there is a huge selection of used Japanese cars and engines.
I would like to say that installing a new Japanese engine on an airboat increases the cost of the product by about 500,000 rubles, so we decided to use a domestic VAZ engine on the airboat. Since it is a vertical cylinder engine, we abandoned the gear reducer and made our own - a belt drive. Thanks to this gearbox, we were able to place the engine almost at the bottom of the airboat, which significantly increased stability and controllability, especially in turns. Tests have shown that the design with a domestic engine turned out to be no worse, and from the point of view of controllability and maintainability, even better than with imported engines with a gear reducer. Tests have revealed that our belt reducer can be used with any engine - even a Mercedes or BMW, Audi, or Volkswagen.
I would like to note that for fishing, movement on fragile ice, water and marshy swamps, the domestic VAZ engine from Lada Granta is quite enough.

Now, if anyone is interested, the other day they installed a Flames (Moscow) ignition on the “old-style” crankcase; I bought it through a forum member “Lesnik77”, having studied the experience of previous installers, we came to the conclusion that it was easier to cut new grooves on Magdino and drill new holes 11 mm deep, 5 mm in diameter mm, cutting new threads into them.
