Voltage blinking on VAZ 2112

Installation of additional devices in the interior of VAZ 2113, 2114, 2115

I’ve been wanting additional devices for a long time (yes, I don’t have a turbo tank, I just love it when everything glows like on an airplane). The question arose, what devices to install? I decided that it would be a good idea for me to have an oil pressure sensor. Putting it on a rack would be nice. It’s useful to see what the government has to offer on this issue. The podiums fit into the rack for 3 devices. This means that something else is needed besides a pressure sensor. In principle, it would be possible to install an oil temperature sensor, since the spacer for the oil filter, which the prosprot offers, has contacts for connecting it, I still haven’t decided on the third device. I wanted a voltmeter or a coolant temperature gauge. In general, Autogauge devices together with the podium cost 10,800 rubles. But it is still very expensive! I googled it, and it turned out that you can install a pressure sensor from a VAZ 2103/2106. In the remaining 2 holes I decided to install a coolant temperature gauge and a dial voltmeter from 2105. I went to the store to buy instruments. The coolant indicator costs 435 rubles, the oil pressure indicator costs 550, a voltmeter from the five could not be found at all, in one place they offered to bring it to order for 750 rubles. I politely refused such an offer and took it to disassembly, where they took out an oil pressure indicator (200 rubles) and a coolant temperature indicator (100 rubles) directly from the instrument panel from the six, and immediately found a voltmeter from the five, also for 100 rubles. These are good prices.

Next, I bought chips for the devices (90 rubles)

The six-pin one was later replaced with a four-pin one, because 6 contacts were unnecessary

I bought a tee from the six and an oil pressure sensor. I decided to buy a new sensor, who knows what is being disassembled. Cost 350 rubles

After purchasing the instruments, I came up with the idea of re-lighting them, that is, soldering in a green LED strip, since all the backlighting in my car is green (the standard instrument lighting is no good at all) and tinting them with a mirror film; at home there are scraps that I collected in the process of tinting the windows At work. There was also an idea to experiment with scales, for this I printed out the scales, but the experiment failed, since the numbers are not visible in the green backlight, so I had to abandon this idea.

This is the option I wanted

For overexposure and tinting, the devices had to be disassembled; the voltmeter turned out to be made in the USSR

A team of 3 professional rollers from ChMP was called in for tinting ( explanation for non-locals:

ChMZ is an area where almost everyone drives their cars in the trash and on xenon, a city within a city, as they call it here. I once came across a 2-story loaf of xenon rolled out in the middle of nowhere). We rolled up the devices, it turned out like this:

After soldering the diode strip, this is what happened:

All three in the dark

In the photo the voltmeter glows brighter than others, this has now been corrected. Now they all glow the same. In finished form everything looks like this:

On Monday - Tuesday the podium from the prosprot should arrive (price 1025 rubles)

As soon as the podium arrives, I’ll collect it. I plan to make the backlight permanent (I’ll take the plus from the ignition switch), I don’t plan to connect the emergency oil pressure light, it’s on the dash, I’ll connect the coolant temperature gauge to the existing coolant temperature gauge sensor, and on the dash I’ll display readings from the engine temperature sensor (which gives information to the brain ), such a possibility exists. In general, everything came out in 1865. instead of 10800. Still profitable

Due to the lack of podiums for the rack for my car, I had to order a universal podium from the manufacturer. In general, this miracle of Chinese industry came to me. I unpacked it and saw the true extent of the disaster

In general, I don’t know what kind of cars this was made for, but obviously not for basins. It will probably go to Kamaz. The instructions say that you need to adjust it to your rack using a hair dryer. Of course there is a hairdryer, but I didn’t even try. Searches in the open spaces of the drive revealed a lot of swear words (in addition to mine) about these podiums, it turned out that they didn’t really fit anywhere. They don't fit on foreign cars either. Of course, I understand that I had to start with this, but what can you do now... You yourself are a fool, as they say. I decided to give up on this matter at first, but I really wanted to finish it, I was sorry for the time wasted. I know that you can make podiums yourself using women’s tights, fiberglass, epoxy and some kind of material, but my hands are not suited for such things, so I dismissed this idea. There is only one option left: buy glasses. Again, we climb into the prosprot, find the necessary glasses, there was a black option, but they are more expensive and plastic, I found aluminum ones on sale, they are cheaper and probably more reliable. I ordered three aluminum podiums, they arrived in 5 days. I picked it up, brought it home, opened it, and found three sets like this:

The mounting with double-sided tape did not impress me at all. Only self-tapping screws! The mounting platform was also not impressive. Very healthy. It looks like this:

There is no other way to place the devices, only so that they look at the floor. We swear again and go to the nearest hardware store, buy small furniture corners:

We paint them black, while the corners are drying we try on the devices:

Performance check

Of course, I had to finish it here too. In the podium, which did not fit, sides were made, so the devices, using standard fasteners, fit there like a glove, but this issue did not work with glasses, I had to wrap the devices with packaging material, which I have a lot of, in general, I installed it. The chips also had to be removed (and how well it all started...), since they could not be hidden under the cover of the rack. In general, everything was ready for installation. I didn't take pictures of the installation process. There were no problems with the installation, I screwed the tee from the six instead of the emergency oil pressure sensor, it turned out like this:

photo from the Internet

I pulled the wires through the outlet of the hydraulic corrector, pulled the wire from the coolant temperature sensor there, and packed everything in corrugation. The only thing was that I had to dismantle the hinge intended for removing the engine, since the pressure sensor, with it present, did not want to stand up, but I hope that in the near future I will not need this hinge. Next, I ran the wires to the rack, took the power (plus and minus) from the on-board vehicle, a plus appears there when the ignition is turned on. I didn't want to cut the ignition switch wiring. In general it turned out something like this:

Now it’s like being on an airplane. From the outside the picture looks like this:

I decided to share with those who are interested in how and what can be done with standard and so-called “silent” locks

How to install a voltmeter on a VAZ 2114

Damn, I didn’t think of building it into this crap, I installed it in a plug that covers the place of the on-board computer. I took the minus from the body, the plus from the ignition switch. you did everything more sophisticatedly and painlessly. The only remark is that you didn’t secure the voltmeter inside the case, I would have added some hot glue) Like for sure!

I did everything clearly, only the voltmeter needs to be connected directly from the battery or generator. To give accurate readings. And so you show 0.5-0.7 volts less.

Is Patamushta a name or a nickname?

It seems to me alone that there is something sparkling in the nutria near the brains, if you reconsider at 4.30 minutes.

Why do many people refer to screws as bolts?

Is it impossible to install an on-board computer instead of a plug without a collective farm?

Although I have it in my dashboard, both in the standard BC and in the non-standard BC, but why is it needed? If there is something wrong with the generator, then the battery icon will appear on the dashboard, but before the winter cold I still charge it.
