Life hack: Lada Vesta lamps - what they cost and how to install them

The Lada Vesta car has different types of lamps: single-pin, double-pin, with a base and baseless, halogen lamps. They differ in power from a very weak 5 watts to a bright 55 watts. Their main task is to light the front, rear and sides of the car. A car with faulty lighting is dangerous on the road, so damaged bulbs must be changed immediately. It is not necessary to contact service centers. After reading the article, learn how to change and select light bulbs yourself.

Replacing the lamps inside the headlights

The original halogen high and low beam devices on the Lada Vesta stand out for their high-quality assembly and good light. The headlights illuminate the entire road in front of the car and at some angle on the sides. When replacing them, remember that halogen lamps must not be touched with hands. All manipulations are carried out with gloves on your hands, or even better, holding the base. Otherwise, there are no difficulties when replacing light bulbs or headlights. To do this, you don’t even have to remove the headlight itself, the bumper, or perform complex manipulations.

Replacing the bulbs on the front headlights of a Vesta will not be a problem even for a novice Lada Vesta car owner. Carry out the replacement by disconnecting the ground.

Open the hood and approach the headlight from behind. You can see 2 lamp covers (low and high beam). They are very easy to unscrew by turning clockwise. Then you need to disconnect the wiring and release the socket from the spring retainer, remove the socket and replace the burnt out lamp. The DRL, turn signal and side light bulbs are much easier to replace. To gain access to the bulb, turn the socket clockwise and then remove it. The burnt out lamp is ready to be replaced. Assembly is carried out in reverse order. Now in more detail about all types of lamps.

Problems

There is one big problem - the risk of burning out the electronics unit, which, by the way, happened to many Vesta owners. For example, if you put LEDs in the DRL of a sedan, then after a short time they will simply stop shining. As a rule, in such cases, the fuses are replaced, which are marked in the instructions with the symbols F16 and F17.

Replacement must be done carefully

However, there are none under the cover that covers the fuse box. In the end, it all ends with a burnt-out electronics unit, which has to be replaced. It's all about the higher resistance of the diodes, which is why Vesta's electronics unit cannot withstand it.

The most unpleasant thing is that this is not a warranty case, so contacting the dealership for a warranty replacement will not help. You have to buy the unit yourself, and it is quite expensive - it is not always possible to find a part even for 8,000 rubles, and sometimes the price tag for an element reaches 19,000 rubles!

Moreover, such a problem can arise not only because of LEDs. If you thoughtlessly select and install components, it is more than possible to end up with a burnt-out unit.

High beam lamp

The H1-halogens used on the Lada Vesta as high beams are reliable and worth their price. The work of replacing them is carried out in the engine compartment. To remove the cover covering the compartment with the light bulb in the headlight, just turn it to the left. The plugs connecting the car's electrical system to the socket must be disconnected. Afterwards, you must carefully remove the latches of the lighting fixture from the grooves. Now the old lamp can be removed and a new one installed in its place. The structure is secured in the reverse order.

Lamps Lada Vesta and Lada Xray

In accordance with the Traffic Rules, operating a car with external lighting devices that do not operate in the prescribed mode or do not meet the design requirements of the vehicle is strictly prohibited, since it contradicts the safety of drivers and pedestrians. Regular monitoring of the condition of light bulbs and their timely replacement will help you avoid fines, reduce costs and preserve your health.

Below is a table of lamps used in Lada Vesta and Lada Xray, as well as recommended manufacturers. We hope that this will help you understand the abundance of light bulbs offered on the auto parts market and make the right choice.

Interesting: the low beam in the Lada Vesta illuminates the road at a distance of up to 130 meters. Distant lights also show decent results – up to 290 m.

Low beam light

For low beam on the Lada Vesta, halogen lighting elements of the H7 model are used; they are not expensive, but provide excellent light. H7 do not heat up even with particularly long use. Replacing the lighting fixture in the low beam unit is carried out similarly to the high beam:

  • The engine compartment opens;
  • The cover covering the low beam compartment is unscrewed;
  • The plugs and clamps are disconnected;
  • The lighting element is being replaced.

Often, car owners make a simultaneous change of all the lighting in the headlights of a Lada Vesta car at once.

What to buy?

One of the Drayvovites, who is known in the community under the nickname 22KAZAK, carefully studied this issue before replacing the lamps in all the above components on his Lada Vesta Altai sedan. As a result, he came to the conclusion that it is possible to replace factory lamps with an analogue one, but only if you purchase tested, certified products and proper installation, so this point must be monitored especially carefully.

New components

So, to replace you will need:

  1. Low beam – LED lamps OPTIMA CL-6 LED HEADLIGHT. Installing such lamps will also require the purchase of universal rubber covers for the headlamp.
  2. Dimensions and DRLs are MTF W21/5W LEDs. They fully comply with the requirements and match the polarity.
  3. License plate light – PHILIPS.

During the installation process, questions usually do not arise and you can do everything yourself. The main thing is to correctly calculate the polarity when installing lamps in side lights/DRLs. If you are not confident in your abilities and knowledge, it is strongly recommended to consult an auto electrician or entrust the work to him.

Light inside turn signals

The turn signal light of the Lada Vesta is built into the socket, so before you begin replacing it, you need to turn it to the left and then carefully pull it out. To do this, use a flag attached directly to the cartridge. To unscrew the light bulb itself, you need to press it a little and at the same time turn it counterclockwise. It will come out of the socket, and you can install new lighting. After replacing in the reverse order, the cartridge must be secured with a sealing gasket. After replacing any light bulb in the headlight unit, it is recommended to check compliance with the technical instructions. If necessary, lighting should be adjusted.

Main light

In the Lada Vesta, the low and high beam bulbs are covered in the headlight with plastic covers. Low beam - closer to the center of the car.

Do not touch the glass with your hands, this will cause it to darken and quickly fail.

They have a lot of power, so they get very hot during operation. When replacing, be careful not to break the expensive light bulb, otherwise you will have to spend money on buying a new one.

Replacement instructions:

  1. Turn and remove the plastic cover.
  2. Remove the electrical block.
  3. Press the retaining spring and disconnect it from the reflector hook.
  4. Move the spring to the side.
  5. Pull the bulb out of the headlight without touching the glass.
  6. Install the new light bulb in reverse order.

Pay attention to the cleanliness and condition of the new lamp: the glass must be perfectly clean. High-quality packaging in a store should ensure the cleanliness of the product

In extreme cases, the glass can be wiped with a clean cloth moistened with alcohol.

Head optics Lada Vesta

To replace the main lighting of the Lada 2180, daytime running lights and dimensions, you will need to dismantle the headlights and front bumper. To do this, first remove the bolts and screws of the bumper. After removing the bumper, loosen the clamp on the negative terminal of the battery using a 10mm wrench and turn off the electricity completely. The last step before replacing bulbs is to remove the headlights. To do this, unscrew the fixing bolts and disconnect all the plugs. Afterwards, you can completely remove the headlight unit and replace the lamps.

What lamps are installed in the PTF Lada Vesta

The fog lights of Lada Vesta use lamps with an H16 socket, twelve volts, and a power of 19 watts. The manufacturer installed lamps from the manufacturer Osram, but lamps from other manufacturers can be installed, as long as the base is H16.

MTF LightHS1216650

All of the above bulbs are suitable for replacement in “foglights” on Vesta. In addition to conventional lamps, you can install LED lamps with an H16 socket. But at the same time, you need to be careful and it is better to first consult with a specialist about whether it is possible to install a specific LED lamp in your “foglights”. Often incorrectly selected LED lamps blind other road users.

DRL lamps and dimensions

The 2180's daytime running and side lights use LED bulbs. Their undoubted advantages include high brightness and low electricity consumption. This allows you to significantly reduce the load on the car's generator. LED lights are resistant to impacts: shaking, vibration on the road.

The rear light has lamps:

• dimensions on the trunk - W5W • dimensions - 5W • brake light - P21

To replace burnt out tail light bulbs:

  1. Disconnect the ground;
  2. We gain access to the headlight by unscrewing part of the inner trunk lining opposite the rear lights;
  3. We disconnect the wires from the cartridge we need, remove it by turning clockwise;
  4. We remove the burnt out light bulbs;
  5. The entire rear optics are removed after unscrewing the fastening nuts with a size 8 wrench.
  6. Reassemble in reverse order.

We connect the LEDs. How and which ones are best to install on Kalina 2

Many motorists love to spend their free time alone with their iron friend. And, if there are no problems with the car itself, then they are engaged in tuning it. In such cases, almost everything can be replaced, from the appearance of the car to the parts of its engine.

It is quite common to replace manufacturer-installed side lights with LEDs. However, this decision is quite wise, since LEDs are much more durable and consume less energy. But, on the other hand, they do not glow like lamps do.

In addition, they are safer than standard lamps, since the power supply of the LED lamp is instantaneous, which allows the driver behind to react to the light faster.

However, replacing an LED is a little more difficult in reality than in the text, since you can simply buy an LED cluster and replace standard lamps with it. Replacement will require some effort. Now we’ll figure out step by step how to replace LEDs and which ones are best to choose for installation on Kalina 2.

Among the many LED options, the best ones for Kalina 2 are those marked W21/5W, P27/7W (3157, 7443) and the abbreviation SRCK. You shouldn't have any problems installing these LEDs.

Lamps used on the vest

All optics on the Lada vesta comply with established international standards and perfectly complement the appearance of the car. As mentioned earlier, halogen bulbs of standard H1 and H7 are used for high and low beam. The H7 model is 20% brighter than the H1, but their light output does not blind oncoming drivers.

As turn signals in the headlights of Lada Vesta there are lamps of the WY16W model in the rear light and PY21W in the front headlight. Both are non-contact, but the front is more powerful than the rear.

Daytime running lights for Lada vesta use 5W, and side lights use W21. These are baseless two-pin incandescent lamps. The brake light also shows a two-pin light fixture, but with a metal socket. The model of this lighting fixture is P21. Reverse gear is indicated by the W16W lamp. The most commonly used lamps for 2180 are Osram, BOSCH, and Philips. You can purchase them yourself in spare parts stores, and then replace them without turning to service centers. This will significantly reduce the time and money spent on servicing the 2180 car.
