The alarm has blocked the fuel pump, what should I do? – Online magazine for motorists

Why should you get rid of this option?

Therefore, the desire to get rid of the ill-fated option is completely justified. Of course, this does not apply to drivers who strictly follow everything written on paper and are afraid to interfere with the standard design of the car. But they too may simply be deceived by a system glitch.

Blocking scheme

Whatever anti-theft system is installed on the car, the electrical equipment is responsible for blocking the starter. This allows you to bring the search lens closer together, making it easier to find the area where modernization is needed.

As a rule, the complexity and severity of the problem mostly depends not on a specific anti-theft system or car model, but on the amount of functionality of the security system (set of protective elements).

As mentioned above, sensors can easily turn out to be faulty. They will periodically fail during operation.

You can determine a specific malfunction of the immobilizer sensor directly by the operation of the system. If an initially serviceable engine does not start, the engine does not respond to starting from the key fob or key in the ignition, then this is a clear sign of such a malfunction.

Disabling locks using the service button in the cabin

If there are no signs of unintentional activation of engine start interlocks, you can try to unlock the engine using the service mode. This mode is called Valet and is used to transfer the system to service mode. To activate, you need to insert the key into the ignition, turn on the ignition and then turn it off.

After this, you need to hold the service mode activation button for about 10-20 seconds. The result will be a notification using a special short signal, after which the signal lamp (indicator light, LED) will be constantly on. This method means disabling all security functions, which may also mean removing the engine locks. We add that after fixing the problem, it is necessary to activate the security functions of the alarm again.

In some cases, emergency disabling of the alarm using a hidden button in the car interior also helps. The specified button is also held for 10 to 20 seconds, after which the alarm status LED lights up and then goes out. After the light goes out, you can try to start the engine.

Why does the alarm block the engine from starting?

An anti-theft alarm is a complex electronic system that has many options for connecting to the main control systems of the car, its own “brains” and several levels of protection against hacking. This is natural, since its task is to prevent criminals from stealing a car.

However, there is a second side to the problem: like any electronic system, the signaling system may not work correctly or fail. What causes this problem? Manufacturers of anti-theft systems and car repair specialists name several reasons for engine blocking:

  • emergency blockade in the event of an unsuccessful attempt to break into the car's locks by car thieves;
  • system software failure (including contact failure on the CAN bus);
  • malfunctions of electrical wiring, electrical connections or signal power supply;
  • malfunctions or insufficient voltage on the immobilizer key fob;
  • starter interlock relay failure.

All of the listed malfunctions are related specifically to the blocking of the car’s engine. In this case, the alarm unlocks the doors. What's next?

Blocking via CAN bus

However, on modern cars there is an even more elegant way to block the engine from starting. In this case, there are no physically broken circuits, and there are no additional connections: it is enough for the alarm to have a connection with the car’s CAN bus.

The essence of such blocking is that when an alarm is triggered, the alarm transmits a blocking command via the bus and repeats it all the time until the alarm goes off. And until the thief turns off the central unit, attempts to start the engine will be useless. If we take into account that with proper installation of the central unit, half of the interior will need to be disassembled to remove it, then this method is clearly the leader in terms of efficiency. At the same time, there is no reason to fear reliability: the blocking relay can break, the contacts can oxidize, and this blocking is exclusively virtual and appears only when needed.

Fuel pump blocking by alarm

The blocking relay in the Starline A91 system can be installed on the fuel pump power circuit. Accordingly, it may malfunction - the engine may not start at all or start for a few seconds and stall. If such malfunctions occur, it is necessary to check the corresponding relay for proper contact.

How to remove the fuel pump block

You can remove the lock by turning off the lock relay and connecting the wires directly.

It is also advisable for owners of Starline A94 and A96 systems to check the serviceability of the immobilizer bypass, which may be the cause of the malfunction. The likely problem is broken wires or inconsistent wire contact. In this case, you will need to check the cable for the relay contact and the fuel pump using a light bulb (12 Volts). The tester will not help here, because it will not show the presence of a bad contact. Often the problem arises from the fuel module plug, which must provide reliable contact.

Five Common Signs of a Malfunctioning Engine Immobilizer System

Like any electronic device, the immobilizer system can malfunction and cause you some problems. Below are five of the most common signs that indicate there is a problem with your vehicle's immobilizer system.

#1: Blocking Issues

You use the key to remotely lock your car's doors, but they do not lock. Unfortunately, many modern cars do not have keyholes on the outside of the doors, so you cannot open them manually with a key.

The only way to lock doors without a working smart key or fob is to lock open doors from the inside and then close them.

No. 2. Problems with unlocking

You probably won't be able to open your car doors with your smart key if you weren't able to lock them as mentioned in the first point. This means that if you lock the doors from the inside and then close them, you will not be able to get back into the car because your key will not be able to open the doors and you will have to call a locksmith.

No. 3. The engine does not start

A common problem with an engine immobilizer is that your car won't start at all. Apart from problems with the locking mechanisms, this could be due to a number of different reasons, but if you are experiencing the above difficulties and cannot start the engine, then you clearly have a problem with either your immobilizer or the smart key itself.

No. 4. Ignition key does not turn

If your key fob has a physical key that you have to insert into the ignition and turn, but it won't budge, there may be a problem with the transponder chip inside the base of the key fob, i.e. for some reason it is not sending a security code to the car immobilizer . This often occurs due to water damage (water and electronic devices do not mix) or because the chip is broken as a result of falling or breaking the key fob.

Before ordering a replacement key, make sure you are using the correct key fob for your vehicle. Just because your spouse drives the same brand of car does not mean that her key fob will work in your car.

No. 5. Problems with car alarms

Since the immobilizer is the main security feature of your car, this means that if the immobilizer is faulty, the alarm will also not work.

Door locking when driving

Some owners of the Starline A91, A63 or A92 complex have a problem when the system does not close the doors when moving or, conversely, blocks them even without receiving the appropriate commands or reaching a certain speed. If the doors do not close, then you need to check the limit switches - perhaps they are faulty or the contact has come loose. Because of this, the central unit does not receive the command and cannot block.

If the doors are locked forcibly, without commands or high speed, then this is a programming error or a glitch in the system. In this case, you need to visit a service center, where professional installers will sort out the issue and fix the problem.

How to disable door lock

The function of automatically locking doors when the ignition is turned on is not always useful and many owners tend to disable it. Deactivation of this option on the Starline A91 Keyless alarm system is carried out through the programming menu. To do this you need:

  • press the Valet button five times with the ignition off, and then turn it on again;
  • listen to five vehicle beeps confirming the correct transition to this mode;
  • select the appropriate programming table using the third button on the remote control;
  • select option No. 2 – automatic control of door locks;
  • set the required parameter (4 – disabled);
  • turn off the ignition so that the system remembers the commands.

Now every time the car is armed, the doors will remain open.

Device for blocking the fuel system of a car

A device for blocking the fuel system of a car, characterized in that it contains a control unit consisting of a switching board and a microcontroller in which the key code is recognized, and two relays that control blocking of the fuel system of the car, and the control unit in the “open” state transmits a signal lasting 5 seconds on the winding of the first relay, which transfers the relay to the self-locking mode, in which the solenoid valve opens and the fuel system of the car is unlocked, and in the “closed” position, the control unit, when the key is brought to the reader, emits a signal via the second channel lasting 5 seconds to the winding of the second a relay, which in turn unlocks the first relay, which in turn closes the solenoid valve and blocks the vehicle's fuel system.

This utility model relates to car security systems, namely devices for blocking the car’s fuel system.

Currently, a large number of security devices are known that allow you to control car security systems remotely. The main disadvantage of modern devices is that decoders can easily detect an encoded signal and then open the car without the owner, as well as quickly disconnect security devices from power and deactivate them. At the same time, modern security devices have a standard connection system into the electrical circuit of the car and have long been known to car thieves.

The device described in the utility model ensures reliable vehicle safety due to the impossibility of unlocking the vehicle’s fuel system and starting the vehicle without a special key.

The technical result of this utility model is the centralization of control of the car's fuel system, as well as the elimination of the possibility of starting the car without using a special key. An important point is that centralized control of the fuel system lock depends on the time of day, which is set by the security system parameter settings.

The advantage of the described fuel system blocking device is the ability to hide the reader under the upholstery. The reader can be installed in any place in the cabin known only to the owner of the car.

The owner, knowing the location of the reader, places a magnetic induction key there, which entails blocking or unlocking the car’s fuel system due to the solenoid valve. This versatility of installation of the device allows it to be placed in various places at the request of the car owner.

The solenoid valve of the fuel system locking device is controlled using a key that has a unique digital code. When the key is touched to the location of the reader, the fuel system of the car is unlocked; when touched again, the fuel system of the car is blocked.

The key is brought to the reader, the reader transmits a signal to the control unit. The control unit consists of a switching board and a microcontroller.

To operate the system in the open position of the valve and blocking the first relay, a current of 1 ampere is used; in the unlocked position of the first relay, a current of 30-50 microamps is used. The use of “small” currents (low currents) allows you to safely use the device in the fuel system of a car without the threat of accidental ignition of the fuel.

Transferring the system to the open state of the electromagnetic valve of the fuel system.

Thus, the device is in a working, “active” state, the fuel system is unlocked.

Transferring the system to the closed state of the electromagnetic valve of the fuel system.

An important point is that when the power supply to the entire system is turned off (for example, an attempt to disconnect the battery), the fuel system solenoid valve goes to the “closed” position. When connecting power to the system after shutdown, a key must be used to ensure normal operation of the security device. Without a key, switching the solenoid valve to the “open” state is impossible.

If there is a problem in the electrical circuit, for example, a short circuit, the solenoid valve goes into “closed” mode.

It should be noted that the device for blocking the fuel system allows you to block almost any part of the fuel system of the car, which significantly increases the security of the car.

1. A device for blocking the fuel system of a car, characterized in that it contains a control unit consisting of a switching board and a microcontroller in which the key code is recognized, and two relays that control blocking of the fuel system of the car, with the control unit in the “open” position transmits a signal lasting 5 s to the winding of the first relay, which switches the relay to the self-locking mode, in which the solenoid valve opens and the vehicle’s fuel system is unlocked, and in the “closed” position, the control unit, when the key is brought to the reader, emits a signal via the second channel lasting 5 s to the winding of the second relay, which in turn unlocks the first relay, which in turn closes the solenoid valve and blocks the vehicle's fuel system.

2. A device for blocking the fuel system of a car according to claim 1, characterized in that it is additionally possible to limit the operation of the system depending on the time of day.

Settings glitch

First of all, it is recommended to inspect the key fob. Or rather, you need to study the pictograms and check whether the starter blocking is the reason for the accidental activation of the additional options mode. On many cars, the locking option is activated only after a conscious choice by the car owner , and it is possible to disable it using the same buttons as on the key fob.

Car LED Bulb

The activity of the function can also be determined by the LED light. This is a kind of indicator installed by some manufacturers in the car interior along with the anti-theft system. The light bulb serves as a kind of sensor that determines the state of the alarm: disabled/enabled.

Attention. If the LED light blinks frequently after activating the start key, and the “immo” icon is displayed on the key fob, the function is activated.

There are two ways to quickly remove the lock. They are suitable as a last resort, if suddenly a motorist finds himself with a problem alone, far from civilization. However, the disadvantage of these methods is that they do not always work. The cooler and more advanced the system, the less chance there is of starting the starter in violation of the rules.

So, here they are, these are the ways:

  1. You can remove the key from the lock, then press the central locking button on the key fob. Then try to start it again.
  2. Get out of the car, set the car alarm, then remove it and try to start the engine.

Thus, you should first determine whether the locking system is enabled and activated. After all, up to 30 percent of cases of such situations arise precisely because of the consequences of accidental changes in internal attitudes.

Engine blocking with car alarm

If there are installed anti-theft systems, electrical equipment is responsible for blocking the engine start. Immobilizers or car alarms may be faulty and cause constant or occasional failures during operation.

It should be added that the severity of the problem will depend not on the specific model or brand of car, but on the complexity of the installed anti-theft security system.

Accidental activation of the engine lock function

First of all, carefully study the displayed icons on the alarm key fob. A common cause of blocking is accidental activation of additional functions. It is also necessary to monitor the readings of the LED indicator light (if equipped) in the vehicle interior, which serves as a light indicator of the alarm status. Flashing LED lamps in most cases indicate that the anti-theft function of the immobilizer is activated in the menu.

If, after turning the key in the lock and turning on the ignition, the warning lamp blinks frequently (for example, the StarLine car alarm) before starting the engine, and a pictogram with the inscription “immo” is displayed on the key fob itself:

  1. One way to solve the problem is to remove the key from the lock, after which you just need to press the button to open the central door lock on the key fob.
  2. You can also get out of the car, set the alarm to security mode, then disarm it and then start the engine.

How to unlock the alarm

Autoworld

One common way to protect your vehicle from thieves is to install a car alarm. This protection system was invented several decades ago, and it successfully carries out the functions assigned to it. Previously, the vast majority of car enthusiasts relied more on IP street surveillance cameras, which they could freely order on the website, but today there is a huge selection of car alarms with various additional functions, produced by different manufacturers and in different price categories. However, a car alarm is, first of all, an electronic device that periodically malfunctions. Next, we discuss the phenomenon of blocking car alarms and provide some useful tips for unlocking car alarms.

So, let’s say that you had to face a problem in which the car alarm stopped responding to remote control presses and stopped unlocking the door locks. This can happen for several reasons. For example, the most common reason is that the battery installed in the remote control has run out. Another common problem can be a dead vehicle battery. Finally, more serious failures include a malfunction of the alarm control unit. In any case, these malfunctions require immediate intervention; thanks to the features of most car alarm models, it will not be difficult to unlock it and open the car door. It is much more difficult to unlock the engine, since electronic protection will not allow it to start.

What can you advise if you have problems blocking your car alarm?

You need to start your actions from simple to complex. First, you should replace the battery in the remote control, or use the second remote control included in the alarm kit and try to unlock the alarm with its help. If there are no results, you need to make sure that the car battery is charged. If the car alarm light does not blink, this is the first sign. In these cases, you can use the key to open the door, and if the security siren turns on, you should press the emergency button to turn off the car alarm installed in the car, called Valet. What to do if the control unit malfunctions? In this case, it is best to contact auto electricians who will either be able to adjust the unit or replace it.

After completing these simple manipulations, you can independently restore access to the machine. However, if you have no experience working with electronic devices, after you regain access to the car, contact a service station to make sure that the car alarm is working properly.

The immobilizer is blocking the fuel pump, what should I do?

Protecting your car from car thieves is one of the pressing problems of car owners. Modern electronic devices, such as alarm systems and immobilizers, help to do this in the most effective way.

Immobilizer: what is it in a car?

An immobilizer is an effective electronic anti-theft device that is used in modern cars. The purpose of this device is to block the supply of electricity and fuel to the car for an illegal driver, which means depriving him of the ability to start the car and drive away.

Principle of operation

The engine start blocking by the alarm occurs if the anti-theft complex is equipped with an immobilizer. Often the car does not start even if there is a two-channel security system. The principle of operation of the blocker is to open the electrical circuit or supply current to elements that can affect the starting of the motor. The engine does not start or stops working after a while. The immobilizer prevents the commission of criminal acts related to disconnecting wires or disassembling anti-theft systems.

If the alarm detects a break-in attempt, it blocks all accessible components of the car. Immobilizers are activated automatically.

Blocking the car fuel system

In view of the “heated” debates in neighboring threads regarding the “disconnectability” of everything and everywhere, I will immediately make a reservation that the system discussed below is just a protection option associated with a non-standard (these days) blocking.
As I already said, this valve, in theory, can naturally be bypassed, but doing this (subject to a hard-to-reach installation) will be much more difficult than, for example, “bypassing” an electronic lock. In any case, the complex rules! The systems discussed below fit very well both with hood locks (for control) and with other components of anti-theft systems. In this topic I will talk about all the interesting options for using this lock. Well, for now, about the valve itself: Another interesting development of the E-burg defense industry (and our domestic developments, as many years of practice show, are the best! Examples are the well-known brands Black Bug, REEF and Guard, which are considered one of the most reliable, alarm systems with the latest crack-resistant Pandora code, and many others.This device consists of: Electronically controlled anti-theft fuel valve BL-EK box.

Enabled only if you have an individual electronic card. Automatic shutdown of the fuel supply when the ignition is turned off. The printed circuit board of the immobilizer control is built into the valve and filled with a sealing compound; accordingly, there are no remote “boxes”. All control is inside!

The valve is self-cleaning and self-thawing in cold weather, just turn on the ignition!

2. Application. The fuel supply is turned on when you bring the working key fob or card into the antenna coverage area (3-4 cm), press the brake pedal and then turn on the ignition. The fuel supply is turned off immediately when the ignition is turned off (“security” mode).

3. Installation. It is installed in the gap in the fuel supply line after the fine fuel filter.

To protect the system from reading the code of the working key fob that you carry in your pocket, it is enough not to transfer it to third parties.

You can store your work card in your wallet and use it without removing it from your wallet.

As we can see, the manufacturer takes the design seriously, in the name of reliability! In addition to the above, all external (inlet-outlet) fuel connections are made not with some clamps from nearby “Auto Parts”, but with hoses and clamps from the German company OETIKER, whose clamps are used by most automakers as standard on the conveyor:

Surely someone has asked this question (and this is the manufacturer’s answer):

Trouble-shooting

As mentioned above, most locking problems are due to a malfunction. The logical thing to do is to find the problem yourself and fix it, and do this every time the system fails.

For example:

  • Check and replace fuses, which in most cases, after blowing, have a negative effect on the blocking mode;
  • Check the battery charge, because often it is a discharged battery or poorly secured terminals that creates problems with the alarm.

In general, a weak battery is a cause for concern. Without the alarm system, the battery would still not be able to crank the starter, or the start would have succeeded, but after multiple attempts. And in cars with the system installed, if the battery is weak, the starter lock is activated, and the engine cannot be started.

The starter is often blocked due to the relay. It automatically turns off the circuit after the motor starts to prevent the starter from being re-engaged. So, this relay also falls into the test zone if the start of the internal combustion engine is blocked.

Disconnection methods

There are several ways to remove the engine start lock by disabling the immobilizer.

Code deactivation

Emergency shutdown of the immobilizer is provided for by the standard factory procedure. The instructions were developed by manufacturers of domestic cars and are included in the vehicle documentation. If you carry out this process, the anti-theft system will turn off until the next time the ignition is turned on. The system allows the engine to start within 5 seconds after it is turned off.

For example, when locked, the Priora will start if the driver has activated the immobilizer emergency shutdown function in advance and written the access code into the system memory. The driver performs the manipulations by turning the ignition on and off, pressing the accelerator pedal according to a given algorithm.

Using a spare key

When placing a spare key in the car, you can disable the anti-theft system yourself. To do this, you need to find a place as close as possible to the pump circuit of the chip, and attach a spare key with an encoded chip there. When you turn on the autostart system or start the engine with a simple key, the system will always detect the presence of a chip in the car and start the engine.

Use of special programs and devices

You can disable the immobilizer on a Man car only using a programmer and a computer. Using special software, the chips of the electronic engine control unit are interrogated, information about the presence of an immobilizer is cut out from them, and the car’s brains stop responding to its signals.

To reflash the control system of a domestic car, it is necessary to dismantle the unit, disconnect it from the electrical circuits, and disassemble it. Resolder the resistance on the board with electronic components; this will allow the unit to be switched to rewrite mode. Using a computer connected via an adapter to the board, perform flashing. Return the resistance to its original place, ensuring that the reading mode is turned on.

Installing the emulator

The standard immobilizer can be disabled by installing an emulator. The emulator, which is triggered when the remote autostart is turned on, will ensure that the ignition system is turned on and will allow the car to warm up before the owner arrives. Its design copies the pump loop connected through a relay with a diode to the immobilizer circuit. The chip is placed in the loop, and the entire system is mounted behind the panel. When the ignition is turned on, the anti-theft system always detects a chip with the correct code and does not block the engine.

Tips and tricks

If attempts to remove engine locks and start the engine are unsuccessful, then there is a high probability of a serious malfunction or failure of individual alarm elements. The result is random activation of engine locks, which cannot be disabled using standard methods. The faulty car must be taken to a service station, as removing the lock will require professional intervention.

The specified delivery can be carried out by tow truck. Another affordable way is to call an auto electrician who works on-site. Note that the final costs of paying for the service of on-site engine unlocking, disabling the car alarm, emergency opening of locks, etc. often turn out to be less than delivering the car to a service center by tow truck and paying for repairs at a technical center.

    Why did you decide that the problem was in the immo? When selling cars, dealers usually do not activate it in Samara.

    If he “gets it” then immo is definitely not guilty! Try starting with the gas pedal slightly pressed.

    because we have had the car for a long time, I inherited it, so to speak. Its battery was dead for half a year.

    Try starting with the gas pedal slightly pressed.

    Perhaps I'm not expressing myself that way.

    this is how it is.

    I turn off the alarm, get into the car, turn on the ignition, it seizes and goes quiet. After that, I have to bring the alarm key fob to the pimp so that it rings, and it would be possible to start it normally.

    But it doesn't ring. It doesn't react at all. That is, further turning on of the ignition simply will not happen. Accordingly, it doesn’t happen.

    In this case, you should contact a chiptuner diagnostician, who will delete the immo code from the ECU memory. The immo will no longer bother you and you will no longer need to make unnecessary movements to unlock the car!

    Engine start blocking is a function that is on the list of available options in almost any anti-theft system. In this case, the system contains an immobilizer that identifies the owner by a special tag and allows the engine to start. Conventional car alarms that have a similar function in their arsenal can also block the engine from starting.

    According to experts who work with automotive electrical equipment, more than half of all cases of unexpected engine failures to start are directly related to car alarm malfunctions. Note that the complexity of implementing locks in this case is noticeably simpler compared to complex anti-theft solutions. This significantly increases the chances of removing the engine start lock yourself in the event of a breakdown or malfunction. Next, we will look at what the driver should do if the alarm blocks the engine from starting.

    Source: https://kalina-2.ru/remont-vaz/immobilajzer-blokiruet-benzonasos-chto-delat

    Doesn't start with key fob

    If your car does not start with the key fob, that is, the problem is related to the autostart of the car, then if you have a temperature sensor, you need to set it to a higher temperature. Then the car will be able to warm up automatically and there should be no problems with autostart. If the starline alarm also does not allow the car to autostart, then the problem may be related to the car’s wiring. It's worth finding out how the starter in your car is connected. If the starter connection occurs in a gap, then it is worth removing it and leaving one single wire.

    It is possible that the car owner has reset the settings to factory settings. In this case, you shouldn’t even be surprised that your car won’t start from autostart. When such a problem occurs, the crawler stops working because your car's chip is not showing up, and that is why the car does not autostart properly. In order to solve this problem, you must definitely visit the service center where the alarm was installed. Re-setting the car alarm will take just a few minutes for the technicians and will save you from this problem.

    How does a car immobilizer work?

    There is a transponder chip built into the key fob. When you insert the key into the ignition or place the fob inside the vehicle (for keyless fobs), the built-in transponder chip in the vehicle's immobilizer system sends a security code.

    If this security code matches the code in the immobilizer system, the engine starts. However, if you are using a key from another vehicle or it is missing a key fob or transponder, the vehicle will not start. The security code is generated randomly every time the vehicle is started, and your key is the only source that can generate the correct code.

    The good news is that the electronic immobilization system is very good at preventing car theft, and getting the key stuck in the ignition is a thing of the past. However, if you lose your key fob or if the transponder chip becomes damaged or deteriorated, you will need a new key, which can be very expensive.

    Repair, replacement

    If the external contacts have oxidized (on the assembly itself or in the seat), then they are cleaned, the break in the circuit is corrected by twisting, replacing the wiring, installing a new fuse - perhaps these are all cases when repairs are advisable.

    If there is a problem inside the relay, then this usually cannot be repaired - they throw it away and buy a new one. Of course, you can try to open the device and figure out its insides - but the body of the part is sealed, you will need to re-glue it securely. Even if it is possible to repair the internal parts, then, as a rule, the lifespan of a circuit breaker that has survived such intervention may not be long.

    Although there are successful cases of repair - see fig. Below is a successful one, but we personally don’t inspire much confidence.

    Let us describe the restoration of the Opel Vectra relay. In this case, such a repair is successful and appropriate - all that was required was to solder the legs (the photo shows that the solder has come off).

    Installation and selection of relays is simple: take a device for a specific car brand or one with similar parameters, replacement - the old one is removed from its seat and the new one is inserted. We have described the placement locations and an example of how to remove the block from the relay on a VAZ.

    You need to understand that we examined the problems of the relay. That is, even if it is working properly, it may be the fuel pump that is broken or its line may be broken. We touched upon some aspects of checking this node quite deeply. The user will be able to test two mechanisms.

    How to access the relay

    We remove the armrest in the center and open a segment of the dashboard; a cigarette lighter and ashtray are built into it.

    We remove the plastic protection, unscrew the nuts securing the box to the body, take out the block where the relays and fuses are located:

    All that remains is to unclip our EM release and insert a new one into the socket.
